Prince Prigio is first born of three princes in Pantouflia. Despite the queen's strong disbelief in fairies, they all attend Prigio's christening party and he's given several wonderful gifts, along with the customary curse from that one disgruntled fairy. In Prigio's case, the curse is to be too clever for his own good. This leads to Prigio being so disliked, his father looks for a way to prevent his being heir to the throne.I very much enjoyed this clever and funny story, enhanced by Lang's vast knowledge of fairy tales and legends. Without a doubt, this and its sequel, "Prince Ricardo of Pantouflia," are two books I'll be reading again and again.

Prince Prigio edition by Andrew Lang Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews
Lang uses all his expertise with fairy tales to create the most witty fairy tale with a twist. He was ahead of his time. This classic deserves to be up there with "Princess Bride."
So cute. Wonderfully written and fanciful. Perfect length. I enjoyed the dialog from the author to the reader quite a lot.
Content is appropriate for children and adults alike. Teach concepts such as empathy, love, cleverness, and how not to seem to clever in less than 70 pages. This is a keeper for your personal library worthy of revisits.
