This was a very pleasant read. It was different and very like the "you've Got Mail" movie content only in a very 19th century interpretation. I'm particularly appreciative of describing Mr. Darcy in terms of his relationship with little children. The communication between Darcy and Elizabeth with letters hidden in a knothole in a tree was a clever way of reversing the computer communication between Meg Ryan and Tom Hanks from the movie which was inspired by Pride and Prejudice--well done.Product details

Yours Truly Mr Darcy A Pride and Prejudice Variation edition by Denise O'Hara A Lady Romance eBooks Reviews
The best from Denise O'Hara I have read, as this was well set out, well-written. Sweet story, good plot idea. I enjoyed it, but think she could have further developed the ending.
Great short story! I enjoyed this variation very much. Particularly liked the Darcy & Bingley interactions and Wickham was a rascal! Definitely worth a read if you want to go about your day with a smile.
This author likes to write. I think she does her own cover art as well, and therefore, one could conclude she likes to draw too. It's good to have hobbies. Its also good to have friends and/or relations who leave five star reviews. I'm trying to be nice here. In my effort to be nice, may I inform the author that Wickham became engaged to Miss Mary King, not Harriet King. Yes, Wickham is a scoundrel, but this Darcy breaks every rule of propriety and this Lizzy is dumb as a doorknob. If there's nothing else to read, skip this and go watch P&P '95. It will be time far better spent. Regrets.
What a wonderful variation on P&P. In this variation it starts out around the time of the Netherfield Ball and continues through the first year. This author uses the "you've got mail" scenario quite well. Darcy over heard Lizzy and Jane talking and realizes that Elizabeth despises him and that she has a tender for Wickham! What is he to do? That is when he comes up with the letter scheme. He is quite inventive on how to accomplish this task. The story was a little short and condensed but it worked. So in the end I loved the story, it is very diverting and I highly recommend reading it!
Not a very long story, so it is a quick read. Another 'You've got Mail' plot; I have seen this before. Darcy wants to warn Elizabeth about George Wickham so he begins writing letters and posting them in a hollow in a tree in a spot where he knows Elizabeth will see anything in the hollow. So begins a correspondence between an unmarried lady and a gentleman - at least she believes he is a gentleman. I'm not sure why it took her so long to figure out who was writing the letters since there were not that many new people in the area. At one point she believes Mr. Wickham might be the writer of the letters. I like Mary's interjection of the sneakiness of Mr. Wickham, I just wished Elizabeth would have paid Mary's comment more heed. Overall, not a bad story, but not the best I have read either.
3.5 stars
We have in this short variation an author who seems to take up the wager as to whether an author can bring a story based on P&P to a successful conclusion without leaving Meryton. And she uses the device several other authors have used within the last year...that of letter writing.
In this story Wickham has gone to even further efforts to make sure he alienates Elizabeth (and through her anyone she wants to share his remarks with) from any favorable opinions about Darcy...even to professing to an attachment. Elizabeth is all too ready to believe Wickham, as we know from canon.
But in this version Darcy does not have to wait until a proposal at Hunsford to learn of her opinion concerning him. No, he just happens to overhear a conversation between Jane and Elizabeth while they (and he) are enjoying some moments while out in nature. (I found the fact that he was undetected in his approach close enough to eavesdrop a bit of a stretch but just roll with it.) So Darcy has to think long and hard to come up with a method to communicate how mistaken Elizabeth’s information is. So instead of leaving letters in a book in the local bookstore, Darcy decides to use a knothole in a tree in the line of sight for Elizabeth in her favorite copse of trees. And he determines to do it anonymously. (Frankly, I didn't think the letters were all that mysterious as to the sender as there are few in Meryton who enjoy reading or who have a sister, etc.)
Mary adds some words of wisdom, Bingley stays in Meryton after his ball and Mary King is saved...again. Lady C. is never a force to be dealt with. But do read to find out just how first impressions may again be changed.
This was a short sweet read which was what I was looking for on a day when I have many chores to perform.
Cute idea. However this Lizzy is not very bright, witty or impertinent. She has no spark and just lays around letting life happen to her instead of taking charge of her life as the Lizzy that I love. Mr. Darcy makes things happen in a subtle way but even he doesn't have the passion to bring he and Lizzy together. The most surprising character was Mary who in a few short sentences gave a description of Whickam that was insightfully accurate yet not believed by Lizzy. Too bad the characters had little depth.
This was a very pleasant read. It was different and very like the "you've Got Mail" movie content only in a very 19th century interpretation.
